English Gothic Farmhouse Refectory Table & Chair Set

English Gothic Farmhouse Refectory Table & Chair Set
You are viewing a delightful English oak refectory table with a matching set of 8 Gothic revival chairs. I hope the photos do this stunning set some justice, it's certainly more impressive in the flesh. If you are looking for that cosy, rustic, provincial farmhouse look then - this is it!
We appreciate it's quite an initial outlay but then this set will last for generations hence making it a great heirloom and investment. This will only appreicate with age. As dining together whether with family and friends is perhaps the most important thing we can do as humans - why not do it in complete and utter style?
Anyway, enough gumph, lets move onto the table and chairs. Refectory tables were originally used by monks in their refectorys, hence the name. You can imagine them drinking trappist ales in their flagons! The table is solid as an ox - chunky, wobble free, resiliant to everything a family can throw at it. We had a similar table when I grew up - it's still there. The legs are hand turned and chunky. A top sits the large eating surface in true refectory style and this is 8 feet long - and you can see how it comfortably sits eight people.
