BRONZE DECO STATUE SPANISH LADY CASTANETS BY P PHILLIPE
You are viewing a gorgeous bronze casting with a silver finish depicting a Spanish lady with castanets. I hope the photos go some way in conveying the quality to this piece, it is certainly better in the flesh.
The piece is signed P Phillipe on the base and this is a later casting from the original. Phillipe was a famous artist working in Paris at the turn of the last century and was famous for his art deco pieces and figurines.
He has really caught the poise and form the lady with great skill as she throws her head back provocatively as she clicks her castanets. Check out details like how her dress flows and wraps around her legs.
